Veterinarian
Dr. McWhirter grew up in western Kansas, the son of a farmer/rancher. He received his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State Veterinary College. After graduation, he practiced mixed animal medicine in northwest Kansas. He came to Arizona in the early 90's to practice feedyard medicine. After the feedyard endeavor ended, he worked as a part-time associate with Dr. Wood at her Coolidge office. He then managed and taught a Veterinary Technician program at a technical institute in Phoenix. His next career move lead him back to Casa Grande to return to his passion of mixed animal medicine. He has since served Casa Grande and surrounding satellite clinics as well as providing care to local shelter animals. His professional interests include mixed animal medicine, surgery and shelter medicine. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. McWhirter enjoys cheering for the KSU Wildcats, gardening, music, and traveling around Arizona.
